How To: Dress Your Bump (Part 2)

Second Trimester:

By now your bump is beginning to show, so say goodbye to any and all midriff bearing clothes like saris and lehengas. Whilst the concept of pregnancy is beautiful, the same cannot be said for bump bearing. So put it away, and, if you want people to know that you are pregnant, gently tap your stomach or rub it to draw some attention to it.

This grey and yellow chand Patiala outfit by Payal Singal is a great option for the second trimester. Made of natural fabrics this look is not only comfortable, but the light silk kurta will delicately drape stomach, leaving only a slight hint. This is a great look to dress up or down. Wear it with your hair half up, a maang tikka and matching earrings to dress it up, or team with a modern up do and some statement earrings for a more relaxed look.

In the mood for something more ornate? Then try this gold embroidered jacket and palazzo look by Ridhima Bhasin. The heavy threadwork bodice on the ox-blood chiffon stops just above bump level, and the loose free-flowing chiffon allows you to be comfortable whilst conservative. Wear it with traditional jewelry and a matching deep red lipstick to complete the look.

Make a splash with this black asymmetrical kurta by Sabyasachi. Made of georgette, this kurta will gracefully drape all of your new curves, and back as we all know, is always flattering. Embellished with Sabyasachi’s iconic gold embroidery work on the neck and cuffs, this look is totally on point with its narrow beaded dupatta that can be wrapped around the neck like a choker. Wear it with your hair up and some traditional jumkhis.
